"Vhat is zis?" Ludwig asked as you handed him a steaming cup of mañzania, you grin and say down next to him. Slowly he covered you with the thick dark green blanket he had brought with him, so you snuggled into his side. It was so cold that you saw little clouds made from your breath. You took a sip from your cup before answering.
"Mañzania. Its a herbal tea my mama makes whenever I'm sick." You answered and smiled up at him," It can be drunk with milk or just the basic water. To sweeten the bitter taste you can add sugar milk or honey. I like to use honey with no milk." You answered and smiled fondly at the thought of your mother.
Ludwig took a small sip and savored the taste, "It's good." He said taking another sip, you smiled and took a quick sip of the hot drink.
"I figured you'd like it. I put two small dots of honey so it isn't too sweet." You said then looked up to the sky," it's so beautiful." You whispered. The both of you were sitting down on roof of your house looking at the night sky. It was around midnight and the whole town was quiet.
"Ja" came a small reply. You watch the sky, the stars shines like diamonds and you could really see the different shades of blue with the sky. How it went from light blue to a bright blue to dark navy blue. You smiled at the fact there was no moon to outshine these beautiful stars.
You tighten the blanket around you, only in winter could this beautiful site be seen. The only sound was of yours and Ludwig's breath."(Y/n), I have somezing to tell you ." Ludwig said quietly and you hummed to tell him you were listening, " I'm leaving for basic training tomorrow." He whispered and you whipped your head around, looking a him as if he had killed a kitten with a fork.
"W-what do you mean leaving? I thought you decided against the army, you said you were going to college!" You stuttered scares you were going to lose your best friend of thirteen years. Ludwig frowned and stared up at the sky you couldn't stop your lower lip from trembling.
"I-I" he began but stopped and took a deep breath, "(y/n), look at zese stars. Zey are bright and beautiful, right?" He asked and you nodded, confused on why he hadn't given you an answer. He smiled at you warmly and you felt heat go to your cheeks, "zey are bright enough to be seen anyvhere around the world." He whispered and you snuggled deeper into his side, he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and you laid your head on it, "vhere ever I am and you are ve vill be able to see the stars. No matter vhat ve are connected by zis okay? I vill find you again. I svear." He whispered and you smiled softly.
After a quiet moment you hear him take a deep breath and look up at him from your position on his shoulder. He looked down at you with his beautiful blue eyes, "Ich Liebe dich." He whispered string into your (e/c) eyes. You frowned and picked your head put from his shoulder.
"What does that mean?" You whispered and he smiled softly, almost sadly.
"It means Ill miss you." He whispered looking away and you smiled softly.
"I'll miss you too." You said and pecked his cheek.
And for the rest of that night you spent it with him staring at the stars, praying they'll forever keep you connected.

You said "I miss you" it means I love you. My dad has a couple of Kraut-English dictionary. Also gives you an excuse to cuss at people in another language without them knowing the meaning. Its super funny.
